Overview The 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) was held from 10 to 22 October 2025 in Belem, Brazil.
Government of Japan established the “Japan Pavilion” to disseminate information on Japan’s advanced technologies and initiatives under the theme “Solutions to The World” during COP30. At the Japan Pavilion, technologies, products, and services that contribute to global decarbonization and climate change adaptation were showcased through on-site exhibitions at the venue as well as virtual exhibitions (online).
Many high-level officials, including H.E. Mr. Ishihara, Minister of the Environment, Japan visited the Pavilion and contributed to promoting Japan’s technologies at the highest level. Numerous participants actively toured the corporate exhibits, engaging in more practical discussions on technology deployment. In addition, daily seminars were held at the Pavilion, introducing a wide range of Japanese initiatives in climate change measures.

Event Outline

At the COP30 Japan Pavilion, nine on-site showcases, 61 virtual showcases, and 34 seminars were held, delivering Japan’s efforts and innovations to stakeholders—including government officials, local authorities, private companies, research institutions, international and regional organizations, and NGOs—both online and offline.

H.E. Mr. Hirotaka Ishihara, Minister of the Environment, Japan, together with high-level representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, and Pakistan, visited the Pavilion, demonstrating strong engagement with Japan’s cutting-edge environmental technologies. Their presence underscored the importance of international collaboration and highlighted Japan’s leadership in advancing innovative solutions for climate action.

A wide range of stakeholders, including government representatives, private sector actors, and international organizations, convened seminars addressing climate change from multiple perspectives. Through expert technical presentations and dynamic public-private panel discussions, participants reaffirmed the critical importance of aligning policies and practices with international frameworks to accelerate the transition toward a decarbonized society.
