| Overview | The Malaysia–Japan Environment Week 2025 was held from 15 to 17 October 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, co-organized by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), Malaysia as a part of International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM). H.E. Mr. KOBAYASHI Fumiaki, State Minister of the Environment, Japan, together with YBhg. Datuk Dr. Ching Thooa/l Kim, Secretary General of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability underscored the enduring partnership between their countries, strengthened by mutual efforts toward environmental sustainability. Over three days, the event brought together more than 600 on-site and 230 online participants. |

The program featured a High-Level and Plenary Session, thematic seminars, business pitches, and matchmaking sessions, fostering collaboration toward a sustainable and resilient future between Japan and Malaysia.
Japanese companies introduced cutting-edge solutions for a sustainable society through short business pitches held both in the dedicated session and within thematic seminars, sparking active exchanges at the Networking Hub and Exhibition.
H.E. Mr. KOBAYASHI Fumiaki, State Minister of the Environment, Japan, together with YBhg. Datuk Dr. Ching Thooa/l Kim, Secretary General of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, visited the Japan Pavilion, engaging with exhibitors and exchanging views on sustainable technologies displayed by Japanese companies.

Three students from Fukushima University delivered a presentation at the Plenary Session, sharing their perspectives on building a decarbonized and resilient society inspired by Fukushima’s post-disaster recovery experience.
A panel discussion was held as part of the thematic seminars, where experts from Japan, Malaysia, and international organizations exchanged insights on practical solutions and future cooperation toward environmental sustainability.
The event was met with great enthusiasm and proved to be a significant milestone in advancing bilateral cooperation on environmental sustainability.
