Intermediate treatment of industrial waste with a focus on recycling

Technology / Service Summary

Provision of 90% recycling rate in intermediate treatment of industrial waste and production of recycled heavy oil and raw cement fuel from waste

Purpose

Intermediate treatment business for industrial waste in all fields

Feature

・Drastically cut carbon dioxide emissions by industrial waste intermediate treatment that mainly recycle without incineration
・The company manufactures and sells recycled fuel and coal substitute fuel for cement calcination to reduce fossil fuel use and carbon dioxide emissions at its customers.

Effect

Incinerating industrial waste as it produces a lot of CO2, but Daiseki can treat it with less CO2 than incineration. For waste oil and sludge, etc., the SCOPE 3 category (5) (waste) is zero for customers who outsource their recycling to Daiseki.

Accomplishments

The Daiseki Group has achieved a recycling rate of 87.7%. The total amount of materials we received for recycling was about 2,061,000 tons in FY2023. We contributed to reduce 559,000 tons of CO2 emissions compared to simple incineration through low emissions recycling process of industiral waste. In addition we contributed to reduce the fossil fuel consumption ; substituting 39,000kl of heavy oil A and 130,000 tons of coal with recycled fuel.
