Closed Stirring Type Composting Device

Technology / Service Summary

Organic waste such as food waste and sludge is mixed with compost activator and brought into a high temperature under aerobic conditions for composting using a closed stirring composting machine.

Purpose

By composting organic waste, it is possible to significantly reduce the waste volume. It can contribute as one method of intermediate treatment to solving the problem against the tightness of landfill capacity due to the not segregation at final disposal, which is a big problem in developing countries. In addition, the organic matter after composting can be used as a fertilizer.

Feature

During the composting process, the temperature of fermentation is maintained on 70oC or higher for a certain period, and since the air is constantly supplied, the organic waste inside does not perform anaerobic fermentation and composting process proceeds quickly (14 days for food waste). The organic waste volume reduction rate can reach 80-95% and consequently it helps to extends the life spam of the landfill. After composting, the final product is sanitary safe and can be used as a fertilizer on farmland and green areas, contributing to soil improvement in the region. This device can treat 200 to 1500 kg of organic waste daily.

Effect

・Composting at high temperatures kills pathogenic microorganisms and weed seeds.
・Because the device has a sealed body, bad odor can be suppressed.
