Cedar Wood Powder Portable Toilet

Technology / Service Summary

Our Cedar Wood Powder Portable Toilet is made using wood powder (MOKUFUN) from discarded timber and thinned wood from Naka Town. The portable toilet provides hygienic sanitary environment with less odour during disasters - a mean of climate change adaptation.
We also make tableware, balconies, plaster walls, leather etc. using MOKUFUN.

Purpose

Through the utilization of wood and environmental education activities, NAKAWOOD aim to conserve the natural environment of our forests, rivers, and oceans, enhance national land conservation functions, and realize a sustainable, circular society.

Feature

Local wood powder (MOKUFUN) is used. MOKUFUN is made by grinding discard timber and thinned wood from Naka Town.

Effect

In Japan, low demand of wood is causing planted forests to be desolated. Without proper forest maintenance, forests can cause landslides and other disasters. Thus, utilizing the local wood protects carbon sinks (climate change mitigation), decrease disaster risks and revitalise the local economy.
