Environmental and Social Consideration Services

Technology / Service Summary

Our highly qualified environmental experts help preventing and/or minimizing adverse impacts caused by planned infrastructure development projects on the social (e.g. people’s living) and natural (e.g. biodiversity) environments of the host country by developing and support implementing practical and effective plans and measures based on the environmental safeguard policies of the governments and international funding organizations.

Purpose

Feature

Environmental and social project risks must be identified at an early stage of project formulation so that they can be translated into effective measures to avoid or minimize negative effects and enhance positive ones. We recognize the integral role environmental and social safeguard policies and practices play. We maintain a team of professional experts that cover a wide range of impacts on the natural (e.g. forest and biodiversity loss and degradation, air, water and soil pollution, noise and vibration, and greenhouse gas emissions) and social environment (e.g. resettlement and impacts on the project-affected persons’ livelihood, gender equality, and protection of indigenous peoples and ethnic minorities). Our experts fully understand the governing principles and safeguard policy frameworks of all major international funding bodies. We identify pertinent impacts through various surveys and prepare environmental impact assessment reports including environmental management and monitoring plans as well as resettlement action plans and livelihood restoration plans all in line with such frameworks, relevant legislation, and the natural and social characteristics found on the ground.
