[Adaptation] Distributed Control of Data Center Workload

Technology / Service Summary

To realize a carbon-neutral society, we make effective use of renewable energy by coordinating and controlling data centers and power grids. The system effectively utilizes renewable energy and green energy-consuming processes such as generative AI.

Purpose

- By shifting the workload of data centers between different areas in response to adjustment requests from the power grid system, cross-area power demand fluctuations can be achieved.
- Making effective use of renewable energy and reducing CO2 emissions by adjusting the workload of data centers based on the surplus renewable energy.
- In case of disaster, prevent system-wide impact by shifting workload to different data centers.

Feature

- Making the best use of surplus renewable energy to reduce power costs and promote decarbonization.
- Avoiding curtailment of renewable energy and reducing operational costs of electricity.

Effect

Contributing to the reduction of power costs, achievement of decarbonization, and promotion of sustainability in data centers as the demand for Generative AI expands.
