[Energy Transition] Hydrogen production system

Technology / Service Summary

Hitachi is pursuing research and development to achieve a large-scale, low-cost hydrogen production system by combining Hitachi Energy's power systems and high voltage technologies with water electrolysis control technologies.
Through low-cost hydrogen production and solutions for stable grid operation, Hitachi will support the stable supply of renewable energy and a hydrogen-driven society.

Purpose

- Mass production of decarbonized hydrogen will be carried out in a large-scale electrolyser system connected to power grid where a large amount of renewables has been connected.
- Contribute to grid stabilization using the power conversion control technology that we have developed over many years.

Feature

- Control technology of power converter: low-harmonic, high-efficiency, effective utilization of surplus energy from renewables
- Insulation and circuit design technology: high reliability
- Model-based diagnosis and deterioration prediction technology: stable operation of production system

Effect

This production solution plays a vital role in advancing clean energy initiatives, significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels and contributing to a more sustainable future.
