[Energy Transition] Hydrogen Transport System

Technology / Service Summary

Hitachi is developing a hydrogen separation system in collaboration with Nitto that can provide gas with the desired hydrogen concentration for various users connected to the existing gas grid.

Purpose

Realize low-cost and stable hydrogen distribution by utilization of existing gas grid and hydrogen concentration control technology.

Feature

- Gas separation technology: Capable of controlling H2 concentrations required by off-taker.
- Local gas concentration visualization technology: Manage mixing sections within the gas grid.

Effect

- Resolving geographical mismatches between H2 supply and demand.
- Low-cost H2 transportation utilizing existing infrastructure.
- Supplying gas with H2 concentrations required by off-taker.
