Technology / Service Summary

Hitachi's Electrification Technology for Mobility is a comprehensive suite of innovations designed to decarbonize transportation from urban commuting to regional travel—while ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure. They also promote operational reliability and passenger comfort, helping cities and operators transition smoothly to cleaner mobility.

Purpose

The purpose of this initiative is to enable environmentally friendly mobility by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and expanding sustainable infrastructure for both public and commercial transport.

Feature

-Grid-eMotion Flash: It helps cities deploy clean, resilient public transport systems that operate reliably in complex urban environments. Using ultra-fast charging technology maximizes vehicle availability and reduces operational costs, making electric mass transit both practical and efficient.

-Grid-eMotion Fleet: It is a full ‘grid-to-plug’ solution for large-scale public transport and commercial fleets, enabling operators to charge more with less. It is an advanced, customizable and proven solution for charging large fleets of electric vehicles. It can be installed in existing or new bus and electric vehicle depots and scaled flexibly as the fleet becomes greener.

-Static Frequency Converters (SFC) for Rail: This surge demands cleaner, more scalable infrastructure. Static Frequency Converters (SFCs) enable efficient electrification by reducing energy use, infrastructure complexity, and environmental impact. By connecting to medium-voltage grids and supporting renewable integration, SFCs contribute to a more resilient and low-carbon rail system.

Effect

The most significant effect of implementing these technologies is the substantial reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. By replacing diesel-powered systems with battery trains and introducing advanced charging systems for fleet vehicles, Hitachi’s solutions contribute directly to a cleaner, more sustainable mobility ecosystem. This transformation supports climate goals and helps build resilient, low-carbon communities.
