Plastic waste Chemical Recycling by Gasification

Technology / Service Summary

This technology enables to recycle plastic waste which contains impurities and mixed materials and produce virgin grade products through basic chemicals such as ethylene, propylene, and ammonia .

Purpose

・To improve the recycling rate of waste plastics and build a recycling-oriented society, by recycling hard-to-recycle waste plastics containing impurities and mixed materials.

Feature

・In gasification chemical recycling, the purpose can be achieved by decomposing waste plastics at the molecular level, removing impurities, and then reusing them into basic chemicals such as ethylene, propylene, and ammonia.
・EUP, licensed by the JGC Group, is the only technology in the world that has achieved long-term commercial operation in the gasification and chemical recycling of waste plastics.

Effect

・Plastic can be recycled in existing petrochemical plant.
・It can reduce consumption of fossil resources.
