Bioprotein Production Technology from Methane Feedstock

Technology / Service Summary

Biogas generation and liquefaction technology by anaerobic fermentation of livestock / agricultural waste and municipal waste

Purpose

Cultivate single cell protein which can be grown by methane nutrition to obtain alternative protein for aquaculture. Alternative protein demand is currently rising due to the scarcity of fishmeal from rapid population growth.

Feature

A methane-utilizing bacterium “Methylococcus”, which grows by aerobic fermentation on methane, is used to obtain a protein substitute for fish meal.

Effect

Alternative protein for aqua culture can be produced safely in large quantities by using industrial methane gas.
