Green Refinery Concept

Technology / Service Summary

This concept is to produce the bio-fuel and plastic material from the wooden biomass by the combination of fast pyrolysis technology and refinery co-processing.

Purpose

To enable the refinery and chemical production by utilizing the domestic forest resources for the energy security and achieving the circular economy

Feature

Fast pyrolysis technic enables to convert the wooden biomass to the biocrude with high yield of liquid hydrocarbon for feeding to the existing refineries and producing the bio-fuels, naphtha and basic chemicals.
Bio-naphtha is the essential feedstock to the chemical industry for its decarbonation.

Effect

Adding the high value to the forest resources by green refinery concept generate the new and sustainable demand of wood industry and forestry.
It can create the employment for the forestry and its supply chain.
And it also reduces the consumption of fossil resources for 2050 carbon neutral in Japan.
