Radiative Sky Cooling Material

Technology / Service Summary

SPACECOOL® manages to achieve a lower temperature than the ambient air without electricity by blocking heat from sunlight and the atmosphere, as well as radiating heat into space.

Purpose

Delivering natural coolness in a safe, electricity-free way for all over the world.

Feature

Reduce Temperature
SPACECOOL® lowers temperature by 2 to 6°C compared to the ambient air temperatureeven in the direct sunlight. With a cooling power of 70 to 100 W/m2, it provides an apparent temperature that feels cool. This leads to increased comfort by improving living environments, and increased safety by preventing heat stroke.

Reduced Power Consumption
It can improve the reliability of electronic equipments by preventing malfunction or failure due to heat, and economy by reducing cooling costs through energy conservation.

Effect

SPACECOOL®, a zero-energy radiative sky cooling material, uses optical control technology to suppress heat input from sunlight while releasing heat into outer space through an atmospheric window, thereby maintaining temperatures below ambient air even under direct sunlight without consuming any energy.
