This is a new “water supply service” that collects a wide variety of wastewater generated at factories and supplies customers with water that has been purified to a quality that can be reused in the manufacturing process (“reclaimed water”). Kurita will install a standard wastewater reclamation system at the customer’s site and carry out operation management and maintenance. By optimally combining both water treatment chemicals and equipment technologies, Kurita has realized a simple and compact system that provides reclaimed water with a stable amount and quality. Through this service, Kurita can offer customers various benefits such as “reduction in water usage and wastewater costs,” “compliance with regulations,” and “BCP response,” among others.

By reclaiming wastewater from factories and supplying customers with water that has been purified to a level ("reclaimed water") that can be reused in manufacturing processes or other processes, we respond to various issues such as "effective use of water resources," "compliance with environmental regulations," "reduction of water and sewage costs," and "elimination of operation management. “

As an asset of Kurita Water Industries, a wastewater reclamation system will be installed at the customer's factory, and Kurita will carry out everything from operation management to maintenance, and it will be a water treatment service contract that provides reclaimed water with a stable amount and quality. In addition, by making full use of wastewater reclamation technology and operation management know-how cultivated over many years, and by optimally combining both technologies of water treatment chemicals and equipment, Kurita can respond to a wide variety of other types of wastewater and maintain stable operation.

Since Kurita Water Industries handles everything from operation management to maintenance, on-site management is not required, contributing to labor saving in the factory. In addition, the reuse of wastewater leads to a reduction in water and sewage costs, a solution to water resource problems, compliance with environmental regulations, and an improvement in corporate image.

This is an example of application to a customer's factory that wants to reduce water consumption as part of its CSR activities.
As part of our CSR*1 activities, the customer have set a target of reducing water consumption by 3% or more for the next fiscal year. Until now, they have been working to save water with cooling towers and boilers, and they consulted Kurita on how to further improve water conservation.
With the introduction of a reclaimed water supply service, Kurita has been able to reclaim various types of wastewater from the production process and other processes without the need for customer operation and management and has been able to reduce water consumption by 23%. As a result, the customer achieved an annual cost reduction of nearly 10 million yen not only by responding to CSR activities, but also by reducing water and industrial water and sewerage costs.
