Technology / Service Summary

The Nidec aims to become a leading company contributing to a sustainable circular society by working towards achieving net zero CO2 emissions through highly efficient products and environmentally friendly business activities.

Purpose

Nidec's technologies help solve various social issues. We introduce the four technologies.
1. Base of AI Society: Providing solutions with a rich product lineup and "thermal management" technology
2. Sustainable Infrastructure and Energy: Contributing through power conversion technologies such as " Electricity generation, storage, charge, and conversion "
3. Efficient Manufacturing: Leading energy savings through automation and high-speed/high-precision manufacturing with " Things that spin and move "
4. Better life: Reducing power consumption of " Things that spin and move " products around us through the development of high-efficiency motors
5. Mobility innovation: Promoting low fuel consumption, decarbonization, and electrification of vehicles through the development of compact motors

Feature

1. Development of water-cooled modules for data centers related to AI semiconductors (GPUs) and next-generation communication Beyond 5G/6G.
2. Provide Battery Energy Storage Systems to support the spread of renewable energy.
3. Contribute to energy savings in vertical lathes.
4. Develop the synchronous reluctance motor that achieved IE5(IE5 is the highest motor efficiency class) and received an award in the U.S.
5. Develop a "magnet-free" E-Axle that is compact, has high power density, and high efficiency, contributing to resource conservation (currently promoted under the NEDO Green Innovation Fund project for "Development of Next-Generation Batteries and Motors").

Effect

1. Save 20-30% of air-conditioning power for the server operation by replacing air-cooling with water-cooling modules.
2. Prevent electricity loss by forecasting electricity generation within ±5% accuracy of required amount.
3. Reducing machine standby power by 16% compared to conventional models.
4. Save 1500 kWh of energy in 7000 hours/year by 7.5 kW synchronous reluctance motors.
5. Reduce the use of minerals for "E-Axle" and contribute to reducing CO2 emissions(4-7%).
