Reduce energy consumption by developing high-efficiency motors

Technology / Service Summary

It is said that motors consume about 50% of the world's electricity consumption. Nidec Group developed motors that achieved IE5 and contribute to reducing electricity consumption worldwide.

Purpose

We provide motors and services from small precision to ultra-large in a wide range of fields including IT equipment, OA equipment, home appliances, automobiles, commercial and industrial equipment, and environmental and energy applications.
Our high-performance motors, which we pursued lighter, thinner, shorter, and smaller, are used in many places around us.

Feature

Nidec Group has a wide range of products from small precision motors to ultra-large motors. We contribute to reducing energy consumption by improving efficiency of our motors.
We also announced that we have succeeded in developing a synchronous reluctance motor that achieved IE5 in 2022. This motor was awarded as the best product at the Commercial Comfort Products of the Year (CCP) in 2022.

Effect

Our 7.5 kW synchronous reluctance motor can save 1500 kWh of energy in 7000 hours/year. The video demonstrates how replacing pool pumps with our motor can save energy. These motors are rare-earth-free, contributing to resource conservation and addressing supply concerns. Our goal is to develop high-efficiency motors to reduce global electricity consumption.
