Transportation is responsible for 21% of global CO2 emissions. Nidec will expand our motors to the various sectors and contribute to the decarbonization through the electrification of mobility.

To reduce CO2 emissions related to transportation, we promote electrification in the mobility sector. E-Axle is a traction unit for EVs that integrates a motor, inverter and gears into one product. A wide lineup is available to meet the various needs. We are also developing the X-in-1 motor that incorporates multiple technologies and serves as a high-efficiency motor.

We are focusing on the development business of traction motors and have been selected for NEDO's Green Innovation Fund project, "Development of Next-Generation Batteries and Motors." We are developing next-generation traction motors with the aim of achieving cost down, zero magnet use, high efficiency, high power density, resource conservation and light weight. We will also promote the electrification of mobility like electric motorcycles and electric aircraft (E-VTOL).

Nidec has developed the next-generation E-Axle being 35% smaller than the first generation, achieving lightweight, high output, and space-saving features. The miniaturization of the E-Axle also contributes to resource conservation, with a reduction in mineral usage that helps decrease global CO2 emissions by 4-7%. By adopting induction motors, which are "magnet-free," we leverage their simple structure and robustness to enhance high-speed rotation. Through a combination of technologies, we are advancing development toward achieving miniaturization, high power density, and high efficiency.
