General Affairs
Technology / Service Summary
In response to the increasing volume of ELVs generated in the Philippines, we will inject our proprietary sophisticated dismantling technology and production technology for construction machinery parts into local partner companies, and establish a system that resolves and commits to the following development issues, such as technological innovation, expansion of sales channels, and reduction of environmental impact:
- Continuous improvement of efficient sorting methods that maximize the scope of economic principles (cost-effectiveness)
- Establishment of sustainable sales channels premised on the realization of improved resource efficiency
- Reduction of waste generation associated with recycling processing and proper processing of hazardous materials
Purpose
Even in the age of the circular economy, one of the key technologies in the realization of "(CE) manufacturing," which will continue to be indispensable as a medium for providing services, is "securing terrestrial resources." If the recycling sector takes on the challenge of technological innovation sincerely, a new value network can be formed, which could become the starting point for the revival of Japanese industry. In other words, if automobile manufacturers, which support the entire Japanese industry, continue to aim to dominate the global market, it will be a great opportunity if they can function through autonomous circularity to create a demand supply chain system that can circulate the value of terrestrial resources without waste, even if they have reached the end of their life as mobility. Recyclers who have the technology to collect and dismantle used industrial products, extract regenerated (terrestrial) resources from them, and "secure the quality and quantity of raw materials" to supply them in response to demand should be aware that they are required to act within the supply chain and contribute as an enabler.
Precise dismantling of ELVs makes it possible to recycle each recoverable material for appropriate use according to its components, and a value network with high added value can be built.
Feature
This is the first time that the company has been recognized as part of the TOYOTA Global 100 Dismantlers Project (a Toyota Group initiative to establish Toyota-certified auto dismantling facilities around the world and promote the creation of appropriate processing systems that safely recover and process as many resources as possible from end-of-life vehicles without putting a strain on the environment).
Effect
The project will procure ELVs from the city, including (1) cars that have lost their value as used cars due to deterioration from long-term use or for sentimental reasons, (2) cars damaged in traffic accidents that are physically impossible to repair, or (3) cars that have been treated as total losses because the repair costs exceed the market value of the car at the time of the accident, (4) cars that have been seized due to loan default, (5) cars that have been seized by the government or local governments due to illegal conditions and have been stored for a long time without any application or procedure for return being made, and (6) cars that have completed testing by the automobile manufacturer, etc., and will transport these to facilities that have received a Certificate of Non-Coverage (CNC) for efficient dismantling that takes into consideration safety and the environment. The project will then entrust the disposal of the recovered waste, hazardous materials, and dangerous goods to appropriate businesses, and sell the reused parts and recycled materials in a manner that is rational within the framework of environment > society > economy.
