Technology / Service Summary
When installed in a primary sedimentation basin/clarifier of wastewater treatment plant or at a relay pumping station, the system can demonstrate the capability of removing impurities such as oil balls and plastics, etc. as well as pollutants at the filtration speed of 1,000m/d.
Purpose
Enhancement of the existing primary treatment in combined sewer system as well as primary treatment of untreated wastewater.
Feature
The characteristics of the product are as follows：
１）By using a new type of special filter media, 100% of impurities, nearly 70% of
pollutants（BOD, SS）and 100% of oil balls can be removed with no coagulant used.
２）Less mechanical equipment is used since gravity flow is applied throughout filtration and washing processes and no man power is required from the beginning to the end of rain. No troublesome management of coagulant is required because the system doesn’t use any coagulant.
３）Possible to install it by making use of the existing facilities such as a primary sedimentation basin and a stormwater settling tank.
４）Possible to perform a primary treatment as an alternative of primary sedimentation basin with a remarkable effect of space-saving (minimum footprint).
５）Possible to continue operation during raining for long hours, as filter media can be washed at the same time while continuing filtration process.
６）Management of operation is easy since the system doesn’t need a pre-treatment screen and a lower screen preventing outflow of filter media.
Effect
The system can contribute remarkably to reduce loads of pollutants outflowing into the environment, whereby in the event of a stormwater, wastewater overflowing from a combined sewer system is quickly treated before outflowing into a river or sea.
