Established in 1994, Farmland Co., Ltd. is responsible for the generation and sale of electricity produced from solar, wind and small-scale hydro electric plants. Following the corporate philosophy of Farmdo Group, "to contribute to the improvement of farmer's incomes," Farmland developed the Solar Farm in collaboration with Farmclub, the agriculture operations branch of Farmdo Group. The Solar Farm allows for the effect use of agriculture land by simultaneously produce crops and renewable energy. Each year in Japan, the number of uncultivated agricultural lands is increasing due to an aging population and lack of young farmers. With the SolarFarm, these agriculture lands can maintain their productivity. Always seeking to improve the Solar Farm, Farmland is adopting agriculture technologies such as drip irrigation and precision farming with the Internet of Things (IoT).
